How to Stock a Pantry like a Pro( Free Printable Checklist!)

A well-stocked pantry always has always brought with it cozy feelings. There’s something about seeing it all organized, and full, that makes me feel secure. Knowing I have whatever I need to whip up some baked goods, or a nutritious meal. Especially when we’re in the cold winters, and fresh foods are less of an option.
Although it may not be as necessary to keep a stocked pantry now, as it was in past generations, there are still many reasons to do so! It’s a very practical way to keep a lot of food-related stress off your shoulders! If you’re now excited to start your pantry-building journey, here are some tips to keep in mind!
1. What Will You Use?
The first step is to think about what kind of food you actually like to prepare and eat! For some, you may be tempted to just start stocking up. Possibly following others’ pantries to a T. The problem with this, however, is we all eat differently. It would be silly to buy a bunch of canned beets, for example, if you never have the desire to eat them. Focus on the practical benefits and less on the show.
2. Know Your Space
Although I have big dreams of one day having the most magnificent walk-in pantry, I know right now I only live in a small space, with a small kitchen, and limited shelves. Make sure before going out, and stocking up that you have an idea of the area you’d like this pantry to be. This way you can buy, and organize accordingly.
3. No Need to Rush
Keep in mind, initially stocking a pantry has the potential to be costly. Once you’ve made your list, you can choose to only get a few things each week, wait for things to go on sale, try to buy in bulk, etc. There are many ways to bring the price down if done strategically.
