Three Yummy Summer Drinks You Can Make Easily

Summer is almost upon us! The weather has been absolutely beautiful, and I’ve been getting more and more excited for the season ahead! One of the best parts of this time of year is getting out in the sunshine. Whether you are out in your garden, having a picnic in a park, or even just laying under the sky relaxing. This time of year we have to stay extra hydrated in the heat, and other than refreshing water, I always enjoy making my go-to summer drinks! Drinks from the store can not only add up to be pretty expensive, but they add lots of unneeded ingredients such as high fructose corn syrup and coloring. Today I’d like to share 3 of my yummiest, fastest, and most simple summer drinks with you, so you can make them too!

Sour Sweet Lemonade

My lemonade recipe is definitely a favorite of mine! Lemonade is very popular in the summer, and instead of buying something from the store, that is usually filled with yucky stuff like corn syrup, try this recipe! It literally takes me less than 2 minutes to do.

  • 2 cups lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar ( You can add more if you like your lemonade less sour and sweeter)
  • 8 cups of cold water
  • Gallon pitcher
  • You can add berries or mint for fun if you want different flavors!

All you have to do is mix these ingredients up in a gallon pitcher and serve over ice! It’s so refreshing, delicious, and fun to try the different flavors of lemonade you can make!

Homemade Cold Brew

Many of us are coffee lovers, myself included. The amount of money so many people spend getting their coffee every day is mind-blowing to me! Cold brew coffee at a drive threw can cost over 5 dollars a drink in some places! If you’re someone who loves coffee, you’ll love this simple recipe so you can start making your coffee drinks from the comfort of your home!

  • 1 cup of coffee grounds
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Cheesecloth
  • Pitcher

Measure out your cup of coffee grounds and place it into cheesecloth. I like to use a hair elastic to hold the grounds within it into a ball. Place this into your pitcher, and cover with 4 cups of cold water. You might need to use something like a small glass to keep the coffee grounds under the water and not floating above. Then just let this steep overnight in the fridge. 24 hours later, remove your coffee grounds, and you can now use your cold brew to make your drink however you please! I like to have mine over ice, with just a little cream, and a splash of maple syrup!

Sweet Tea

Iced teas are definitely popular, especially as the summer season hits. This is my take on how to make sweet tea.

  • 12 tea bags, I use earl grey
  • 1 cup of sugar ( you can add more for a sweeter tea)
  • 4 cups water for the tea steeping and more for after
  • Gallon Pitcher

Heat up 4 cups of water to a boil. When boiling, take off the heat and add your tea bags. Allow this to steep for at least 5 minutes. Remove your tea bag and then add sugar. When all mixed together, pour the tea into your gallon pitcher, and then fill the rest of the way with cold water.
