Thick and Delicious Beef Stew
With the coming of the cold season, having recipes that are not only delicious, and hearty, but also warm, and comforting, is an absolute must! This stew is easy to make, and can be just what your family needs on a chilly day!
Ingredients:
- 1 large package of stew beef ( Feel free to substitute ! In my latest version I cut up some deer meat that was given to me ! )
- 2, 32 oz boxes of beef broth
- 1 large onion
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- Tsp salt
- Tsp peper
- 3 tblsp lemon juice
- 2 russet potatos
- 2 large carrots
- Slurry ( 1 tbls flour mixed in a bowl with 1 tbls water until dissolved )
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees farenheight
- Cut your meat into small, bite size , pieces
- Finely chop your onion
- In a baking pan , put your meat , onion , and 1 box of broth
- Sprinkle your garlic, salt, pepper, and 2 tblsp of lemon juice , over the meat.
- Bake in the oven for about an hour, or until meat is tender, and onion is golden
- Chop your potato and carrots
- Pour your other box of broth, 1 tblsp of lemon juice , your chopped potatos, and carrots into a large pot
- Cook on medium – high heat , stirring occasionally , until the veggies start to get soft.
- Pour your meat mixture into the pot and continue to cook and stir occasionally
- Turn stovetop down to low-medium heat , and slowly pour in the slurry you made, stirring as you do. This will thicken your broth
- Ready to serve!
